KGP created a new record in the first phase of Placements 2018–2019 by bagging more than 1270 offers out of which 741 job offers being made to the BTech, Dual Degree and MSc. (5yrs) students. Top recruiters of phase 1 which began on December 1, were EXL Services (30), Quantiphi Analytics (27), Barclays GSC (22), OYO (20), Mastercard(18), etc. Dual degree students had a considerable share with a total number of 350 offers. While department of Computer Science once again dominated in the CTC analysis with an average of above 30 Lacs, many of the other departments had an average range of 10–20 lacs. While department of Mechanical engineering bagged the highest number of offers, departments of Metallurgical and Material Science Engineering and Chemical Engineering had the best conversion ratio for placed vs registered number of students. Maximum companies offered jobs in Software development and Data Science profiles. Also a fairly higher number of CTCs lied in 7–15 lacs zone.
The analysis is done on the basis of offers made and not on the basis of offers accepted. It includes BTech, Dual Degree and MSc. (5yrs) students. The analysis is based upon results of Day 1 to Day 13 of Phase 1 of the placement season as collected from MFTP Notice Board. It does not include data from PPOs, Day 0 and PSUs.
